Hello everyone
It's been a very busy summer.
Hopefully now that the race season is over I will have more time to sew.
To celebrate fall I will be having a mystery giveaway.
All you have to do is to leave a message on my blog stating 2 things
1. What is your favorite fall memory or favorite thing to do in the fall
2. Why should you win the Fall Mystery Giveaway
The prize is "a mystery". But it will be a fun mystery. LOL
Please make sure to include a way to contact you in the message.
It will begin today and last through September 25.

My favorite memory about fall is the falling leaves that I saw in Philadelphia. We used to eat chestnuts and I loved the hues of reds and browns. It's a mystery to me why I should win...all kidding aside....I think that I should win because I have always loved mysteries and my best weekend ever was a Agatha Christie weekend away. What fun!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite memory is getting out the sewing machine and making my kids Halloween costumes. Together we woudl select what to be, then the fabric. And, finally the sewing up a special memory for them. Also, I still can see everyone lined up carving theie very own pumpkin after a visit to the pumpkin patch. Why should I win??? Because it will add to my fall memories. I can be reached through my blog I suppose marilynpond.blogspot.com
ReplyDeleteLiving in the Northwest, one of our favorite activities is to go on a roadtrip on the Cascade Highway. There is nothing more spectacular than all the vivid fall colors lining the highway. Love it! With all the giveaways featured in the wonderful world of blogland, I've never won one. I think it's time for me to win something. LOL
ReplyDeleteHi Pat,
ReplyDeleteAs I live all the way over here...our seasons are tad different but your fall is the beginning of our wet season, I so look forward to the coming rains and everything turning green again the pounding rain cools it down nicely in the late afternoon evening..and we loose power a lot but it is nice to be able to sit and do some stitchery in the cool weather.I guess 'cause I have commented then that entitles me an entry too win I love the fall colours and seeing all the different shades on the trees, and what gal can't resist a mystery , and even if I don't win it's great to read other peoples thoughts, cheers Vickie
I guess I would have to say the falling of leaves....but much more vivid images in Arkansas when we visited on our first trip to the States...and I should win because I love all those oranges, browns, and fall colours..hugs Khris
ReplyDeleteOhh I should also win it because my son Guys birthday is on the 25th of September...LOL..he will be a big 18...and I should win to celebrate 18 years of raising him...LOL...hugs Khris
ReplyDeleteI love a good mystery! I love fall almost as much as I love summer. I think my favorite thing to do in the fall is bake...apple pies, pumpkin cookies, cinnamon bread. Mmmmm! As for why I deserve to win...I have a birthday coming up in a few weeks and winning would help take the sting out of being another year older. Thanks for the chance to win!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite fall memory are the leaves turning in Asheville North Carolina. You can definetly see God's hand in it all.
ReplyDeleteWhy I should win? Well because it would be nice too.
My favorite Fall memory is the time we went to Lancaster when the kids were smaller and my parents were still with us. Harvest time, apples, quilts -all perfect!
ReplyDeleteWhy should I win? Who doesn't love a bit of mystery! And looking over your blog, I don't think you could go wrong! Everything looks so nice!

Hi, found you through Khris. :) I should win 'cause I'm just a nice old gal. I don't have any favorite fall memories unless you count the time I water skied in the Mississippi river in October. Man was that cold!
ReplyDeleteHi, I too found my way to your blog through Khris! I have so many memories of fall...it is my favorite season, I love the colors of the mountains as the changing leaves give way to Mother Nature's patchwork quilt, the smell of the crisp air, apple picking & making apple butter, and the nesting urge that takes over me as I prepare my home for the winter season! There isn't any reason at all that I would be more deserving to win than any of these fine ladies...but it would be my first!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun giveaway. And now I'm even more excited about Fall.
ReplyDeleteHymm. My most favorite memory of fall is driving thru the mountains in Ohio, in the Fall. The colors were absolutely amazing. I'm from So. Cal, so this was my first real (and sadly, my ownly) experience with true fall colors. It was breathtaking. I have it on my "Bucket List" to hopefully repeat someday.

Thanks for hosting a fun, mysterious giveaway! I live in Indiana and we have beautiful fall weather. The trees are starting to change colors, and it's fun to talk about with my kids. We have been collecting leaves all the colors of the rainbow! I'm not sure how to answer "why" I should win your giveaway. I love getting mail...when it's not a bill...I love seeing my daughter open mail...so, there, if I am your winner, I will ask you to address it to my daughter and then she will be SO excited to have a package in the mail...that is why I should win! Thanks for a chance.

I've lived in this sleepy little town all my life..nearly 50 years, and fall has always been my favorite. As a child I loved the nip in the air; the fragrance so biting with wood smoke aloft. As I aged, the colors and textures wooed me. My first quilt project was a kaleidoscope and I did it in fall hues...the gray of the beech nut tree and the yellow/orange/burgandy of the maples surrounding me. Once I was married and pregnant with my first during that season, I craved decorating with pumpkins and cattails...I drove for miles looking for anyone selling pumpkins...no one was...the next year I started my own patch to rectify this gross injustice! Now, 30 years later, people come to us for their fall themed decorations for outside. I'm hoping the mystery involves something fallish to cozy up my home. I'm no more deserving than any of these other ladies...but I truely adore fall and everything it entails.
ReplyDeleteMy favourite fall memory is when my husband and I took a trip to New England in the Fall.
ReplyDeleteIt was amazing to see the colours. I am no more deserving than any of the other fine entrants but it sure would be fun to win a mystery giveaway.
As with the other Aussies, we don't call it fall, but one of my favourite Autumn memories was with my mum in London, as a young girl....finding acorns or conkers in the leaves at the local park....and feeding squirrels and mum trying to convince me that the squirrels understood what she was saying to them! lol Why should I win? Just like the prize...it's a mystery! lmao....does that count as an answer Pat? Hugs Naomi P.S. thanks for letting me enter your giveaway.
ReplyDeleteWe call it Autumn here & as a kid in London i loved going to the market with my mum & having a bag of hot chestnuts, it was great also that i could wear a thick sweater & didn't need a coat now i can't be without one most of the time oh what age does to one lol
ReplyDeleteAs to why i should win the mystery prize why not being fair i think we all should but as it only 1 then Please Miss Can I Have It
Hugs Janice
My favorite fall thing to do is roasting hot dogs and then marshmellows over an open fire.
ReplyDeleteI probably should win the mystery so I'll have something to do this fall when we are finished eating!!
My favorite thing to do in fall is bake apple cake or apple pie (and to eat it, still warm with vanilla icecream or whipped cream, mmmm lovely)
ReplyDeleteI don`t know why I should be the winner. May be just because I`ve won a lot of giveaways during the year since I started my blog. That looks like a reason not to win, but never mind, I`m a "winner". I keep my fingers crossed. Thank you for having this giveaway.
Hi Pat..I love Autumn..or fall as it is in the USA.I love the autumn leaves..the colours. My favourite thing to do is to walk in the park with my hubby and children, especially when it is a crisp sunny day....and looking at the gorgeous coloured leaves. It a lovely time of the year...
ReplyDeleteWhy should I win....Well it is said you have to be in to win..so I think why not give it a try...If I win Id be very excited, it I didnt well I gave it a shot...
Hugs Lisa
I love autumn Pat- the colors are rich and the leaves turn beautiful shades of earth tones. I also love all the bounty of the local gardens and the way leaves crunch under my feet.
ReplyDeleteSurprises are great fun- you never know what you are getting. The best gift is the opportunity to meet other quilters and bloggers who inspire and share their passion for quiltng. I am sure you will have a tough choice to make for each entry is a deserving winner. Thanks for hosting your lovely autumn giveaway.
Warmest regards from Western Canada,
Anna
I love the open country in fall, I love running and laughing in the rain.It doesn't matter if I don't win it is so cool to meet so wonderful people and keep in touch even if we are so far. kisses and hugs
ReplyDeleteHere in the UK we call it autumn (probably because we don't have those lovely coloured leaf falls!) and for me autumn is the time of preserving, of making chutney and jam, and storing things up for the winter.
ReplyDeleteAnd why should I win? Well, there's no 'should' about it - but if I did, well, it would be one of those beautiful, unsought-for, acts of kindness that I have just blogged about!

Here in Australia I love Autumn because I know that I don't have to put up with 45 degree days for a while. Autumn I can get back into the garden and enjoy it. Why should I win well I have as much as a chance as everyone else plus a mystery prize is even better. What fun it would be to wait for the parcel. Happy days.
ReplyDeletehummm....my favorite memory of fall...now thats a tough one...I had 2 children in the fall one on Sept 13th and another a year later on Oct 2nd...but I would have to say that my favorite memory of fall is the time I drove to Lancaster PA with 3 other quilting friends..we were well into fall and all the leaves had changed colors...as I was driving I kept saying to the girls...WOW!! Look at all the color..wouldn't this make a beautiful quilt of colors...than we started coming to the fields and one of my friends said...yuck.now all we see is fields that have been plowed over...I said ...no no no...look at all the shades of brown in the fields...did you ever realize there were so many browns in just a few miles of fields....we had a great time...thats what quilting friends so...they share memories and laughs and tears..ideas and insights....and just as a special note..the following spring when we returned to Lancaster...we shared all the colors of spring and summer and how many greens were in a few miles of fields..heheh...I am Judy from Chenango Forks NY bearlea@gmail.com
ReplyDeleteoh I forgot..why I should win...can't say there is a real good reason except to say..I love color and quilting and good friends to share them with...that about sums it up...Judy from Chenango Forks NY bearlea@gmail.com
ReplyDeleteMy favorite fall memory is a picture in my head of a beautiful tree, turned bright yellow and the sun shining on it. This particular tree was in a park in north east NJ.
ReplyDeleteI now live in Ocean County, NJ and for several years I would comment that I was missing the fall colors that I had grown up with. I think it was 2 years ago that I opened my eyes and realized that Ocean County has beautiful color also. I guess that would be my reason why I should win the mystery gift. But really, I have already won just by finding your blog and reading the other comments.

My memory of fall or here in Australia it is called Autumn is as a young child looking up the long street where we lived and it being covered in multi coloured leaves. We would walk through them and feel them crumble under our feet, a light wind would blow and more leaves would fall. I guess i should win just because i feel lucky. Hugs
ReplyDeleteLois
My favorite fall memories revolve around fall hikes with my son to collect leaves and hickory nuts. If I were to win the mystery package, I would like to make a new fall tablerunner.

Hello Pat, well the fall is my fave USA season, I don't live there, but I luckily had the chance to live the fall season once when I lived in America for a while, this is the most incredible season, because you see all the rich colours of nature, well I do have a memory, lol, I was just haunted with the colours of the scenery I was in Vermont that time, and I was really really busy taking pictures, from everything!!!..., and I was just noticing the film on the camera was taking a lot of pictures, without a sign for its end, so I opened the camera and look for what was wrong and I hadn't ANY film there!!!!, Oh gosh! I was reallyyyyyy mad, and I still am, lol, I missed a lot of beautiful things, can you imagine? I just have one picture I took with my camera from that fall, I'd like to win the Fall Mystery Giveaway, because I'd like to have a thing that resembles your amazing and beautiful fall all the time!, I hope to see the fall once again in my life !
